| Sawako | ||
| My current body of work titled “Sawako” is loosely based on my life as a microbiologist. Sawako was my mother’s name (1924-2005) and she was instrumental in helping me with my master’s degree in microbiology by helping with childcare. In these paintings, I am imagining another world, wholly made up. Organic shapes dominate and the lines, threads, tubes intersect on and off the canvas. The work began in October 2016 and I am still in the process of discovery. |
